Despite torrential rain, hail, high winds and temperatures under six degrees we still raised over £100 for NRAS at our Bank Holiday Monday fete.
We flogged off goodies ranging from Derby crockery to books to Aloe Vera plants - and home-made cakes - to raise a total of £106.26. And congratulations to THE RiNG members who turned out in that ghastly weather to help - take a bow Val (and husband Roger), Geraldine Allen, Elaine Bounds, Chris Preston (and his wife Helen) and, last but never least, Steve Ranns (and his wife Jayne) who fought the elements to bring home the bacon. And to Wendy, who contributed 25% of her take from face-painting - and didn't the little darlings look cute?
And the bacon butties - not to mention the sausages - weren't bad according to some of the others but, being a veggie, I was just grateful to Roger for queuing up in the pouring rain to get us some tea.
